It appears, once again, that I am confused. My clutch just decided that it wanted to be difficult. When I start it in the a.m. I cannot get the car in gear. But let it sit there & warm up for a bit & then it'll go into gear. Turn the engine off & it goes thru gears smoothly). Start driving it & it's all good. So I decided after reading all the posts that the first thing I should do is bleed the slave cylinder. (I do not appear to be leaking fluid from anywhere). Is there some other way to access the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder aside from going at it underneath? I had intended to do the reverse bleed others have spoken of but could not get in there to get enough room to turn my tool. (I know, buy another tool, right?)
The pedal feels as if it has no resistance but it must have slight resistance because if I let it warm up it will go into gear (but the pedal is still lame). For fun, since I didn't have the proper tool to bleed the slave cylinder I decided to bleed both front brakes to see if that did anything.
Well, that allowed me to put the car in gear with the engine running while cold! Progress! Except petal is still lame. I read something somewhere about taking out a seat to get to the slave??????? Would this apply to my car? Does it sound to you experts out there that I'm on the right track & that I just have a boat load of air in the system?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
And thanks to this forum for helping me fix my saggy rear end! It is now sitting pretty as it should!
