85 380se how to tell if it's getting fuel?

On my return from the south for the winter my 85 380se started right up but then after a minute or so died and won't start. It will try to start one time if I wait a day before cranking again. It has fire and I have jumpered the tank fuel pump to be on and I can hear it run. I took one of the injector lines off of the fuel distributor and cranked to see if any squirted out but it did not. Is there a better way to check for fuel to the injectors?
It looks like there's an elec pump on the front top of the engine, is it? It's where the throttle linkage goes.
Any help appreciated.

The easiest test for fuel pressure is to push down on the airflow plate in the airhorn. If there is little to no resistance on the airflow plate then it's a safe bet there is no fuel pressure. If the airflow plate has resistance and wants to push back up then there is fuel pressure behind it.

OK, the air plate goes down very easy. It closes up slowly when I release it.
The gas line from the fd goes to the front of the engine next to the thing that the throttle rod goes to. This little "box" has an elec connector and some vauum lines. What is this? Is the pump by the gas tank the only fuel pump or is there one on the engine? Thanks.

How are you jumpering the fuel pump? If the fuel pump is running you will definitely have pressure, unless maybe the filter is very clogged.

I'm jumpering the pins on the fuel pump relay. I can hear the pump running when I do this and sometimes hear a gurgle sound somewhere around the engine. I did not have the pump on when I pressed on the air flow plate, should I? Thanks

I tried it with the pump on and same results. There is now a rapid clicking or buzzing from the fd area when the power is on to the pump.
