skip at idle on 300CE M104

My wife's 91 300CE misses at idle but clears up on acceleration over 1200 rpm and runs smooth with full power past that point. Any ideas?

Antonino

Does it stall or stumble?

300ce missing at idle

It does not stall just skips every 5 to 10 seconds but as I say it smooths out after 1200 rpms and runs smooth and strong.

if it skips you may have air entering the system by a small leak. So some of your fuel hoses by the fuel pump assembly could be leaking or some of your vacuum lines could be leaking, ie cracked etc.

Can you hear air bubbles in the gas tank? Open your trunk, remove the carpet and idle the car. LISTEN for air bubbles in the tank that will sound like water draining out of a tub. If will be fine then you will hear gulp sound.

missing at idle on 300CE

Dear Oracle, thanks for your input. I replaced all of the rubber vacumn hoses I could find around the engine and the problem is gone...thanks so much for your input.
