Amazing 300E's (and SR-71)
I made a round trip Washington - Richmond today in the 300E. I had a 6-8 sales rep in the front seat on the way down and AC on both ways. Cruising at 75-80 mph, I travelled 236 miles on 9.25 gallons of gas, INCLUDING traffic in and out of Washington and getting slightly lost in Richmond.
That works out to 25+ miles per gallon, fairly amazing for a car of that size and comfort. BTW - if you ever get to the Richmond Airport, you MUST visit the aviation museum. In addition to an interesting display of vintage planes and aviation history, they have an SR-71 Blackbird that you can inspect up close. Words fail me here. I have seen a number of pictures of this plane, but to walk around it and absorb the details and sheer size is something else!
