89 190E window motor replacement tips?
After checking A to Z wiring and switches, have narrowed down a non-functioning front passenger window to a bad motor. Have replacement on the way and now about to task the removal of the old one. THE BIG QUESTION IS>>>>> Do I need to have the window in the lowered position for component removal and how do you manually lower an "up" power window? I will be replacing the whole unit, regulator and all, less the glass. This is for an 89 MB 190E
Thanks for any tips. |

The W201 chassis has 2 different typs of window regulators.
ON 1 version the regulator must be removed & then dis-assembled to replace the motor. IS yours "plastic" or metal?

Mine is the front passenger door and looking inside , appears to be metal. My biggest question is....If the motor is toast and the window is up, do I need to manually lower the glass somehow to remove the components such as the motor and the regulator? Any help with this would be appreciated as my replacement motor will arrive today.
