2004 S320 CDi Key problem

Hi,

My Dad has just called me to say that he's got a problem with the keys for his S320 CDi. It's the keyless system, where you can keep the fob in your pocket and open doors / start the enging by pressing buttons.

He had a knock on the door from someone last night to say his hazard lights were flashing. So he unlocked the car and then locked it again.

This morning he is able to open the car doors, but when he tries to start the engine it says 'Key not recognized'. This is using both key fobs.

Before he takes it to the dealer, does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Oliver

All ok now. A man from Mercedes called round and discovered the battery in the car was flat. It's been replaced and all works fine now.

Regards
