What about these new Fiber Optic Systems?

Fiber optic radio systems
OK-

From what I gather on this site, it seems like the fiber optic cables used in newer MBs mean that the components (CD changers etc) will NOT work in the older models.

I don't see why one cant just purchase some fiber optic cable and hook things up.

I know VERY little about MB stereos but I am trying to learn.

The reason I ask:

I have a Becker 3302 from a 1999 e320 that I want to put in my '90 300SE.

That connections on the back look to be standard modern "ISO" hook ups.

I would also like to add an amplifier...how hard would this be?
