Front cover sealant

I am installing the front timing cover back on a 190e 2.3 and it calls for Locktite 573. Hard to find here, is there another option one which is a little cheaper as well, as long as it is anaerobic?
Can this be used on the water pump as well? There was no gasket here when I took apart.
From what I have read on other threads there seems to be a debate on RTV vs. Anaerobic?

RTV has been the sealant of choice by MB for over 15 years. They recommend Loctite 5900.

Available from Mercedes Benz part number A 003 989 98 20 10.

The tube of sealant will do over 20 covers, so seal it up well after use.

When doing your timing cover, replace the cam seal, oil the surface of the u shaped seal, spread the sealant lightly on the cover face and add an extra amount at the side joints with the lower cover, head and cyl head.

The 2.3 M102 engine doesn't use a cam seal...but the rest is GOOD info.

I'm going to add some pictures of the procedure because I just finished it yesterday. I started my oil consumption process in June and found that I needed to replace the valve guides, which I did in one of my classes. So the head is back on, the dront cover is on and I need to add oil, crank the engine over, check for leaks and let the hydraulic compensators pump up. Then add the plugs and wires and it'll be good to go. I also replaced the O-ring on the oil level indicator.

MB Doc, I thought the M102 and M103 were similar and had a front cover.
