Find the cable going from the throttle linkage down to the tranny.
The end of the cable ahould have a ball socket that snaps onto the throttle linkage. Pop this ball socket off using a screwdriver blade.

Now, pull in and out on the end of the cable to get an idea of how it feels.
When pulling out, the first bit of travel should be free, then it hits a spring resistance and is harder to pull on out.
With the throttle linkage closed, we want the ball socket to just pop back on the ball as the cable begins to hit that spring resistance.
Adjust the cable length by turning the nut on the sheath of the cable.
Real easy, hard to explain.
