W124 inaccessible and leaking water pipe

Hello

1994 E 300 TD, 124-class.
The water pipe running from one side of the car to the other behind the firewall is leaking.
The pipe is running from the circulation pump to the feed line to the heat exchanger.
The pipe is part 97 here:
http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=124191&M=606%2E910&GA=722%2E435&GM=717%2E433&CT=F&cat=44R&SID=83&SGR=180&SGN=04

Has anyone replaced this pipe?

On the right side of the car it is "sort of" accessible when the battery is out, but on the left side...
I can barely see it beneath AC-lines, vacuum lines, water hoses, wires and the brake booster?

Advice will be appreciated :-)

Regards

It looks like the supply line to the windshield washer reservoir heater. I have no use for such a device here in Florida so in my own car I could easily just cap both ends bypassing the system. Many models don't have it anyway.

Hello

Possibly you're right, but in my car the windshield washer reservoir heating system are hoses 24, 2x107 and pipeline 126 in the first picture.
This pipeline is in front of the firewall, directly behind the engine.

(In/Un) accessible Coolant Pipe

'Much easier to see [and screw with] with the engine out.
'First noticed the one on mine when I was underneath the Chassis removing the
Torque Converter drain plug.
'Run that baby up on some ramps and see if it's easier to get to.

I swear, every time I look at this vehicle,a (New to me) engineering marvel is
revealed.
'Some times the "Marvel" part is "How Do I Replace That, and still be able to drive the automobile after I'm done?"

I have a 94 e320 that's GAS not Diesel.

Considering the chassis should be "almost" identical you may be able to access the "pipe" by removing the "fake" insulator firewall and / or shroud covering surrounding the windshield wiper assembly. In the attached photo, immediately behind the engine are two pieces; a composite insulation panel and behind it a plastic panel. Lift up the rubber molding. Unscrew a few quarter size black plastic fasteners and remove the panels. You should be able to see under the Heat / AC air box. If you can see the pipe, but need to remove more panels to access it, search this site for windshield wiper assembly removal. Basically ALL the plastic covering between the fake firewall and cowl is attached by a lot of screws and two slider clips. Easy, but time consuming.

Thanks guys for your advice!

These cars ar indeed well engineered...
I have worked a lot on the W123 and the W124 and on both models the Climate Control System seems to be the most challenging.
If this waterpipe and the heat exchanger have to be replaced on a 124 the weekend is not long enough for a first-timer...
