560SEC battery replacement

Hi. I have to replace my battery but the garage is too dark and my car is squeezed in there. Is the battery fastened in with something I need to loosen? I tried pulling it up to get it out and it won't move...

Thank you

Yes, it has sort of a clamp down on the bottom. The easiest way I've found is to remove the washer tank to get to it. Hope this helps.

Battery Removal

Take screw (part # 95 ) out of horizontal clamp (part # 92).Remove #92 upwards.
Remove Negative Battery Cable clamp(#161)...Remove Positive Battery Cable clamp(#26)...
Strain,Groan and Hoist Battery upwards and Away.

Hint: I'd sure put that MB in Neutral and push it out of the Garage , so that
everything is more accessible.

Apparently, there are a couple of small wires attached to the battery terminals that you should never disconnect. I disconnected two wires from mine that I thought went to a radar detector, which I THOUGHT was draining my battery. Well, guess what? If you don't reconnect them, the car won't start. Doh!

I have to remember to get a service manual for the Dee8gonator.
