1999 E320 Coolant suggestions

I just checked my coolant reservoir. It is empty when the engine is cool. Should it have some coolant in it? What kind of coolant should I add? Car has 86K mi and is flawless otherwise.

Should be filled to the max/min marks on the side of the reservoir.

MB sells it.

Zerox G is the same fluid.
