84 190E still has cold idle problems!

Well I've tried almost everything I can figure out to do with this car, to make it idle correctly when cold. I have a beautiful 800 rpm no load idle when engine is warm. Here is what I need to know:

How can I tell if the engine is in a cold run mode? It does have the Thermo Switch in the very front top corner of the head, and the switch has NO difference in readings when it's hot or cold.

I have taken my meter and checked, I have zero volts on both wires hot and cold. Makes no difference in engine operation when the plug is removed or attached.

Does anyone have or know where I can find a good explanation on how this fuel injection system works? Anyone have access to the training manual? Thanks again for any help.

Rick
