distributar vacuum lines where do they go?
Hi I was wondering if someone could help me out and tell me where these to vacuum lines run to. I think they run over somewhere to the carbs but I'm not sure. It's a 71 250c with two dual zeniths. Thanks

They go to the switch-over valve ..one is retard and one is advance.

These are the switch-over valves right? If they are which one do I run the vacuum lines from the distributor to?

The one on the left. Common vac on top and dist on bottom. I don't remember which one for R/A ...someone here will have that info...
,,or thry it ..you want R for idle. so whichever port is open at idle is R at dist servo..

so something like this? Accept that the lines could be opposite.

Yes..
I have the exact config somewhere here in my stuff and will try to find you the specifics...it is an early emmisions control of the spark curve, where they want R for idle and certain speeds and accelerator positions. Many guys junk it and run stright timing. Found some info; With strobe lamp, increase rpm. Above 2400 and timing should read advance... ..below 2200 and it should read retard. That will tell you if the speed relays are sending the required signal to the Valve and from there you can determine which line goes where. If you have a hand vac pump, [ or a good pair of lungs ], you can also test the dist advance element w/o running the car...one will advance the plate in the dist and one will retard it. Advance would be the plate moving opposite normal rotor rotation.

Which way do you think I should go with this restoring it to how it was or converting it to run stright timing?
