Buying W210 with 19k miles (1999)

Does $10,900 sound fair for a showroom 1999 E320 with 19k miles? Smoke silver with tan leather inside. Will have PPI done, but seems fair to me.

Thoughts?

I hear the V6 is a fun one to drive...not quite as fast as my E420 but almost!

Haven't Seen the Tires

I am not sure about the tires...service manager says he serviced it all along...carfax says miles good and he also had the low miles in his computer from the maintenance appointments.

That is a great deal. But why are the miles so few? Get a carfax report on that.

Sounds more than fair if it is as presented. Still have a PPI done.

Sound pretty good to me, as long as carfax is done (not the cheapo one either!) and a PPI by a dealer or MB specialist shop, also which model 210?

OOPs I see it's a 320. Well, at this point in the game you want to make sure that all the maintenance is up to date including spark plugs, coolant and brake fluid. Sometimes this gets skipped over on a low miler. I'd also insist that the intake (cabin) filters are done as well as the charcoal filter.
And if you know anything about me, you know I wouldn't worry about the tranny fluid.
Be sure the differential is inspected for leaks.

Thanks

It is a E320. All records, original paint, spotless. Possible a/c freon leak...hope it is not evaporator. There is dye in the freon...we'll see where it is coming out.

**what is the most common place for freon to leak in these?

From what I know the evaps are fine, usually it's a rock to the condensor.

In addition to the condenser, another leak-prone area on the W210 is the A/C hose going to the dryer up front behind the driver side headlight. That hose is pretty cheap. I have an extra condenser on hand if you end up needing it.

Great Guys

I left a deposit on the car. I'll post pics when I see it. Was owned by the proverbial old lady (they showed documentation) and my only fear is when a car sits like this...such low miles are a blessing but things do spoil from sitting...

Smoke silver is a great color...never need to wash it. I have had all white MB's...yea, pretty but lots of cleaning.

This W210 will be lots of fun if it checks out okay. I think the V6 was a pretty good motor...smooth and decent power.
