Where can get an injector bench tester/cleaner?

Bosch makes a bench tester for fuel injectors. It's a hand pump that can develop 300 psi or so, a pressure guage, with a place to put cleaning/testing fluid (mineral spirits) and a place to attach the injector to be tested. It allows the user to test spray pattern, opening pressure, etc. and perhaps clean out some borderline injectors. The whole rig is bolted to a bench top with a couple of bolts.

Does anyone know where I can get one or one that is made by a competing manufacturer? Preferably at the best price since I won't be using it everyday.

Cheers,
sc

The thing I'm looking for looks like this. I've located an Assenmacher version for ~$440 and a Bosch for $395. I'm looking for an ordering distributor for the bosch. Apparently need to be a warehouse distributor to get it.

I'll keep you up to date.

Cheers,
sc

The device you have pictured looks more like the diesel injector bench tester.

I could get you a new one but I'm not sure that it would save you any money.

Thanks for the offer, Steve*

I'm going through my Bosch contacts, and currently have a low price of $374. There's also one that's made in India that I'm waiting for a price on. But I think I'll be going for this Bosch one.

They do make a diesel one of essentially the same design, only it has a pressure range of 0-5000 psi or so instead of 0-300. That one seems to cost about twice as much.

I checked eBay, and have just missed an auction where one of these plus a fuel injection pressure guage were being sold together and it went for $224! Man, I can see how I could get a little hooked on that eBay thing**

Cheers,
sc

I should have read your post more carefully. It is the diesel version that is available through a company in Belgium. It is NOS original Bosch I was quoted $80. +$36. S&H. I think I'll order it and see how things turn out. If your interested I'll report back.

Go to ebay Item # 594712779 . It is close to what you are looking for and it didn't sell.

h2odiesel,

I would be interested in knowing more about the Belgian company. I wonder if they also have gasoline versions? Do they have a website?

Ron,

Thanks for the link. I took a look and it is indeed the type of pump I'm after. It looks a bit rough in the picture though. Anyway, I sent him an e-mail to see if he still has it. We'll see what he has to say.

Cheers,
sc

Here is the web site. www.dieselmot.de I'm going to wire them some money today and see what turns up. I've gotten good reports from the two guys that have already purchased them.

h2odiesel,

I visited the website and saw the tester. It is exactly as you say. I can't believe they're letting those go for $80! That's a terrific price. Enough to make me think about getting one and changing the pressure guage**

Acutally, I'm not sure that would work, because I've got to think that a hand-pump made for 5000 psi is different than one for 300 psi.

Anyway, I sent them an e-mail inquiry to see if they have the gasoline version. We'll see what happens in a couple days.

Cheers,
sc
