Smoking from under the hood or out the exhaust? From what it sounds like you have alot of oil leaks and you will be smoking from under the hood.

Most likely would be valve guides/seals on a 103 engine.

I'm pretty certain it's not the head gasket.. if the sparkplugs
are oil fouled , the valve seals would be my first suspect.

The first thing you need to do is make sure the oil is topped off. Then you need to soak the motor down with a good degreaser and pressure wash it. Then you will be able to tell where the oil is coming from.

120 psi doesn't sound perfect to me It sounds low. I would guess the seals are gone valves most likely have oil cake on.

Run conpresson test again and swirt oil in cylinder and run test again. if pressure goes up most likely rings are worn if pressure stays low you got valves not seating good.

Valve seals, probably valve guides, rocker cover gasket. Potentially rocker cover is distorted and will not seal properly.
The rocker cover is fastened down to a relatively low torque - and tightened with a specific method.

Leaking oil from the rocker cover onto the exhaust causes an uncomfortable burnt oil smell to invade the cabin ....... ask me how I know.

Why not spend a few hours and $50 putting new valve stem seals. This is like the 2nd or 3rd recommendation to do so. You'll be amazed.

I changed valve stems on my Mitsubishi Eclipse using the rope method. Basically just before the cylinder gets to TDC you fill the cylinder with rope then turn engine at crankshaft and the piston pushing on the rope holds the valves from falling when you remove the valve springs and replace the valve seals. You will need the correct valve spring compressor from Mercedes still.
