'94 E 320 Engine Electrical Questions

My throttle operates with the key off, I'm thinking that it is not normal. What relay controls power to the throttle system? Where is the ground located?

TIA

On that car the accelerator cable attaches directly to the throttle actuator.

Even with the key off it will move the throttle butterfly. Even with ASR the butterfly will open 30-35% of the way with the key off.

It's a '94 E 320; HFM-SFI, electronic throttle.

Seems like the power to the HFM-SFI should be cut off with the key off. I just don't know what relay/switch to check first.

are you saying that the throttle assembly is buzzing while key off or just that the butterfly will open.as mbdoc said the linkage is directly connected to the throttle and will open partway so that the car will drive in limp mode when the elec throttle shuts down.

The over-voltage relay powers all the the powertrain computers.

Don't understand your problem?

Both. Buzzing with key off (sometimes), and butterfly opens.

Thanks, I'll check the OVP relay and local grounds also.
