'95 C280 dash

Can anyone tell me the routine to remove the upper center dash panel so I can replace the hazard switch? It has been reported that the switch simply snaps out, but the new switch has a rim that precludes replacement except from the rear.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well - it has been a very long time since this original post, but turned it up in a forum search and I am having a similar issue with a likely faulty hazard switch (hazards not coming on for a '95 C280 W202 chassis, everything else on the dash and turn signals are fine). I understand that it's possible that the relay is in the switch itself?

I'm handy enough that I'd like to try to clean and/or replace the hazard switch myself, but after pulling a couple phillips screws from the dash below the factory stereo, I am at a total loss for how to remove the wood dash trim to access the switch. Any help or advice would be most appreciated and would also save me a trip (and thus some good $$) to the shop to replace a simple $15 part. Guidance anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Well - after no responses yet, I found this fabulous site to show me the way... More involved than what I am trying to do here, but nonetheless, it's a big help for me... Hope it is of assistance to others:

Remove the radio using the radio keys, take out the 2 screws below the radio and the 2 screws inside the radio opening at the top, then pull rearward from the bottom of the cover (the wood piece). The top edge is under the center vent, so be careful.
