The excelsior and I crossed paths today after 3 years. She was at the dealer auction looking much worse for wear. 180,000 miles now. I was the high bidder, but they wanted more money. Maybe I'll get it next week.

Bummer, it was a nice wagon when I drove it. How bad is it?

Weird to think that it was three years ago...

I have lately been getting "newer" car envy and have been shopping around. I have a e320 wagon with 107k on it and have been pondering a replacement. She is in great shape but needs some suspension work. After fixing 2 of the 3 biggies (wire harness and transmission...head gasket still good), I yearn for a newer MB or BMW wagon 2004 or newer. I may have changed my mind after reading this post. Let us know what you end up with.

How many times has it been said or implied on this forum that it's better to spend more up front and get a well maintained car rather than buying one of unknown condition. I think your eyes and logic are telling you to pass on an old friend. She isn't what she used to be. Sometimes there are somethings best left to enjoyable memories.

And yes, if I ever come across another 94-95 e320 Wagon, I will be seriously tempted....

As the new owner of a e320 4matic with 53000 original miles (year 2000) I would appreciate comments from e320 owners. What sites for mantenance items? Regards, Abe G PS considering selling my 1977 450sl with 132000 miles, present values?

Hey TylerH860, are you going to do the head gasket on your new wagon? How is the reverse?

Never mind, I just realized you posted this years ago! I looked at the most recent post which was only a couple of months ago.

Sorry!

They are going to have a hard time getting that coin considering all its current issues.

Sold in 2009 with 150,000 miles on it, still on the road in 2015 with 207,000. Needed a transmission in that time as well as some front end parts and an AC compressor. Still running great. Cosmetics on the other hand...

Another arm rest, fender, door, a serious detailing, floor mats and some paint. Not much if the mechanicals have been taken care of.

Didn't have a chance to take other photos, but there's not a straight panel left on the car now. Chunks missing out of both bumpers. Undersized, bald tires, lit up like a christmas tree on the dash.
