Question Rough cold starting 190E 2.6

I just bought a 190E 2.6 (1989). The car runs great once it starts. But it takes about 10 times switching the ignition on and off before it finally fires and then idles rough for a little while. The manuals say not to give it gas....and thats true. It takes even longer if you feed it. The car will fire right up after its been driven, but getting it going in the morning is really hard. Someone suggested a bad cold start valve? Never heard of one...Im sure there isnt one on my 300D. Any one had similar problems with a 190E?
