seat belt light
Why does the seatbelt indicator light keep flashing when the belts are connected on my '87 560SEC?

Faulty timer in the dome lamp... replacement (dome lamp) is the only repair OTHER than removing the bulbs.

Out of curiosity, what type of timer is it? Is it just a thermal time delay relay, or something more involved like a 555 timer IC?
If it's a 555, then one should check the capacitor in the circuit. Can you even get it apart to see the electronics? Never tried...... If you can take a pic of the circuit, I'd be happy to take a stab at guessing the bad component. 555 circuits are really simple, using a cap and a resistor for timing. Even if the 555 was fried, they're like 20 cents each..... -tp |
