I just found out that my son's new OBD 2 unit will not work on my 1995 E320 wagon. Can an OBD 1 be used and can you tell me where the data link connector is located on this car? Thanks,

Codes may be read on-board from the unit in front of the battery. All the information you need to know is in this thread and its links:

If you have an OBD1 tool already, you can use that at that Diagnostic Box,
vs building the tool.............
