1989 300 SEL, Does it have a ECM / ECU?

I’m striping a junk 1989 300 SEL for parts for my 1989 300 SEL. I thought I have an ECM / ECU (Engine control module) on this car, but I can’t seem to locate it. Among other parts I have the ABS module from the fire wall, and the ignition control module from the drivers fender, but I thought I had a ECM like the later model 103 engines. Does anybody know if I do and where it is located? I don't want to send it to the crusher without completeing the harvest.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

Isn't it usually behind the outer firewall? In the middle?

That's what I thought PawoSD. I found the ABS moduke in the middle of the firewall and the Klima module, the fuel pump module/relay and the OVP. I expected to find a brian box, ECU/ECM like the one behind the battery on a 1990 300E. Thanks for your reply.

I think, I think I saw it behind the passenger outer kick panel.
Yeah, David Poole pulled the kick panel and tied into it when he was testing my system awhile back.

The one for my SDL is right in the middle on the first firewall. You can see it with the hood open.

And the answer is……..

Thanks to all the contributors, especially those that lead me to the passenger outer kick panel. I wouldn’t have guessed it was hiding in there. Once again you guys have saved me time and money. Many thanks!!

That's the ABS module.
