Question 2001 C240 Oil Change Procedure?

I've not tried it yet, but have heard that it has to be removed through the top? I do maintenance on my other cars (non-Mercedes). Can anyone help me with the procedure for my C240?

Thank you -

Dealers use a pump through the dipstick tube. I have a Mity vac pump and pump it out that way.

Oil Change

It is definitely easier from the top. From below, you have two splash panels to remove to get to the drain plug.

Significant number of forum members swear by the "top sider" [sucking th oil out the filler hole method]..

I use the old fashioned > jack up the car> drop the splash pans >[easy!!] and use the oil pan drain plug... [1997 C230]

while you are under the car> can see "what else" is going on...

No, they don't. The sucker tube is inserted in the dipstick tube. Even though there is no dipstick.

I've been sucking it out for years using my TopSider, a marine item available at West Marine for about 50 bucks.

I do the same for my '08 C-300 which has a dipstick.
