Actually, avezbakiyev can get MBUSA involved without the dealers' involvement. He can simply call the Mercedes Benz Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES, and make them aware of the problem. This is the way to get the ball rolling. The CAC will then contact the dealer for any further information. The MB zone rep for that dealer will also be notified automatically.
In this case I think the CAC will determine that the dealer that performs the inspection will be in the best position to decide if any assistance is in order, but if there's a disagreement, the CAC can assign the case to an escalation specialist. At this point, the factory rep will get directly involved.
All this may sound like a PITA, but this is how MB handles situations like this. The system works, you've just got to take it one step at a time. As I said previously, MB is more than fair when it comes to resolving these issues.
