There are two small O-Rings between the EHA and the mount. Get them and change them, pretty easy actually.

Just helped a friend with his 91 190E 2.3 yesterday.

EHA was leaking, we installed new o rings, and it still leaked. Grabbed another from a parts car, and that cured it.

Looked like the case was cracked on the original one.

Be careful not to drop the fasteners...

Jim

Yes, first replace the O-rings and go from there. Two bolts and the thing comes off. Try to do it when the car has not been used overnight as the fuel will shoot out like a volcano if you have driven it recently.

J.H., I presume you're smelling gas under the hood and the leaking EHA valve is the source. By all means try replacing the two green O-rings; however, I suspect the plastic case is cracked and you will need to replace the EHA valve. That was my experience with a 1991 300CE. New EHA valves are quite expensive so you may want to search online for new, or take a chance on a salvaged one.

The thing is that...

I do not smell gas, do not have any driveability problems, the car behaves great. The only reason I am asking is because of how it looks after removing the air filter assembly. Well, let me add another twist to it. Take a look at the idle control valve and tell me what you think ( I already replace it just in case).

J.H., since you don't smell gas from the EHA I would clean it thoroughly and inspect it in a few weeks ... same for the idle control valve. It's normally best to leave well enough alone if things are working properly.

I already replaced the ICV.

I am planning to leave it alone as suggested. I think it is just odd appearance.

Thanks!
