Magnet for CPS not recognized

What does that mean? Got this DTC 18 on the DI module of my 400E. How could the magnets not be recognized? They are still there. Could it mean something else? Car runs OK but does miss sometimes when it gets hot....

Its probably a bad CPS....or a bad wire.

There are 4 segments on the flywheel, but only 1 of them has a magnet.

IT is there to help synchronize the injectors IF the cam sensor fails.

Most mis-fires are ignition related, dist caps, rotors, or wires.

It appears as those there are 2 small round magnets on the flywheel segment. They are in a small recess. I have replaced the CPS.
This car does miss and idle rough periodically when it gets hot. Then it may start to run fine. Makes no sense. The only codes I get are for the magnets (sometimes) and the transmission overload switch S65. Could that make it run rough when hot?
