Can't find this in a search....

I am trying to fix my headlights....well really the housing i guess thats what its called...on my 1990 190E 2.6. here is my situation: i want to know how take off the plastic frame (retangular shape with a square hole for the low/high beam lights....fog lights are yellow and enclosed behind the plastic frame) so i can tighten them up because they are wobbling and loose. and also my front driver side turne signal light is a little loose because of this. can anyone give me some help on how to dismantle this.....and i know "do a search" but nothing in the search explains this. thank u for ur help, knowledge, and wisdom!

First you take off the lens door that covers the foglight. It should have a plastic clip on top and bottom that can be popped with a screwdriver carefully. That should then slide off exposing the fog light bulb and giving access to the screws that hold the headlight reflector on. As for the turn signals, they have a plastic nut that can be tightened inside the engine compartment where the headlight and the turn signal meet.

you can... if needed, remove the lens completely off the housing. if i remember correctly there are 3-4 "tabs" that need to be pryed-off carefully... once off you'll be able to access the innards... and clean up the inside of the lens... which is close to impossible to do. much easier cleaning euros...

btw... this operation needs the whole housing removed from the car...

i was able to make an attempt to carefully pry off the lens and i was successful at getting the lens off, but unsuccessful and doing it carefully, for i have broken off several of the plastic tabs in doing so. dammit! has anyone notice that mercedes (at least my 1990 190E) uses a lot of plastic parts that tend to break?
