cl55 strut

I need to replace thr right front strut in my 2001 cl55. It has part # A220 320 64 13. When the dealerships check the part by VIN number, it comes up as A 220 320 54 13. They can't explain the different number and see no notation that one was superceded. I'm curious about the difference? Thanks, Steve

The 64 13 number does not appear in history. Often there are casting or sub.component numbers on parts that were never available as spares. The 54 13 number checks out for early chassis numbers and the later ones are different.
