Inside this console there are two buttons, one has a wrench symbol and the other a "i" symbol. My manual does not discuss their functions, does anyone know what they are for?

The buttons are for the Tele-Aid/Emergency Call system. The wrench button is for Roadside Assistance, the "i" button is for INFO. You probably don't have an active subscription for this service, but since your system is digital, your dealer can activate it for you. I'm not sure what the subscription will cost, but it's probably a couple hundred bucks per year.
