Just to be sure, keep the W201 fan with the W201 and the W124 fan with the W124.

The intermediate ring between the engine and transmission might have to stay with the transmission (4 bolts on an OM617).

I thought I read where the 86 uses KE3 Jetronic and the 91 uses KE5 Jetronic so you might have to check ECUs and sensors and the like.
