E320 Cluster question

I replaced my broken cluster with one bought from a junk yard. Can I bring to the dealer and have them program the cluster. Do they retrieve the milage from the computer or I have to tell them the milage before hand. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the MB cluster, but the ones I have worked with here at work are one time programable. I thought that they could only be programmed new, otherwise people outside of service/manufacturer could set them to anything they wish. If the dealer could for some reason do this, you would definately have to bring in the broken one.

(Assuming this is regarding a W210, 96+)
The cluster is re-programmable! You must have it programmed by the dealer otherwise TMU (True Mileage Unknown) will be displayed! And I think they would get the mileage from the old cluster, but if they couldn't for some reason, I'm assuming they'd go off service.
