1998 S320 hard/delayed transmission shift

94kmi, apparently was always dealer serviced.
My s320 transmission has a delayed and then hard shift when I accelerate hard above 3K rpm, usually. When i drive slow, it shifts smooth as silk. No CEL, I have not yet pulled any trans parameters from my scanner yet. Have not checked the TCU connector yet. Been reading it could be the MAF also. Can anyone tell me what to info to look at in my scanner when checking the MAF or looking at the trans data?

Does the car shift that way all of the time or only when cold?

Having issues with the engine can cause harsh transmission shifting/
If the engine doesn't develop the correct torque that WILL happen.
