fuel tank leak

On my old 1984 300d I drilled into the fuel tank from the trunk to mount a bracket, not knowing the fuel tank was there. Didn't realize what I did until I opened the trunk and found it full of diesel. Fixed it with a sheet metal screw slathered with JB Weld.

Don't know what kind of leak you have but I would recommend JB Weld. It will work without draining or removing the fuel tank.

when i removed the tank to find the leak i discovered the tank a little dented in and a small cracked/hole where it was dented.. i think the tank had too much pressure and collapsed...i cleaned out all the vent lines and tried an epoxy type fuel tank repair kit but it didn't hold...i think the angle of the crack might not work with sheet metal screws...i'll have to pull tank again and check better though...while tank is out it might be better to just replace...having trouble finding one online for 300d 123 body....heard there might be a plastic replacement tank? thanks again!!!!
