1998 SLK-Top Wont Go Down+

Well I did it, bought a 1998 SLK with 65,000 miles on it at the auction, it has a few issues, like peeling interior paint, which I expected. BUT, I can't get the top down, or the trunk open. The button on the console which I think is the one to lower the top is missing its cover, I hope this is the switch and I just need a new one, OR am I pushing the wrong button, and should I have turned another knob? Any info would be appreciated-Thanks.
