Seems like all have forgotten that it doesn't have to be the pump!

It could be the CAA . . . and if it's bad . . . there's no TRICKS that will fix that problem.

Check MENU #28 to refresh your memory.

Hard Close Window Reset?

Here is my specific issue and let me know if anyone has a suggestion.

I have a '95 S600 coupe. The closing assist started acting up (not closing passenger side and trunk). Pulling the fuse worked to reset it, but it would then fail after a couple of closures. I read the article and adjusted the solenoid so that the pump now runs for maybe 4 seconds (down from about 9-10 seconds) and everything seems to work fine with the following exception:

When the passenger door is opened, the passenger side windows 'crack' down as normal. When I close the door so that the closing assist pulls the door in, the windows go back up as they should. However, sometimes, when I close the door hard all the way without the closing assist pulling in the door, the windows do not go back up as they are supposed to do. If I open the door again and allow the closing assist to pull the door closed, the windows will then go up as they should. I do not have this problem on the driver side.

Can you suggest what the issue might be?

Could be similar to my problem w/ '94 S500 Cpe.

The CAA [closing assist actuator] was 'cracked' causing a vacuum leak such that when the door was slammed, the passenger side CA wouldn't work.

Details in Menu#28 on my page: here's a direct link:
http://www.k6jrf.com/MB_Close_Assist.html

BTW, that's how the CAA device "broke". . . people slamming the passenger door.

Can you tell me what exactly you mean plug and play circuit, pls contact me by this email goldwing1522@yahoo.com

1997 s600 trunk/door closure issue - do you have teh magic plug and play part?

I have a 1997 S600 and the vacuum system works for two or three trunk closures and then I have to pull the fuse and put it back in. Then it works 2 or 3 times again. Doors pretty much always work. Will the plug and play described in this thread work? If so, how do I get it? Thanks
