Well where do I start . I wont so I will keep it short.
After 6 months of mucking around with a 190e that kept stalling at traffic lights etc and after replacing OVP relays , fuel pump relays , I have now fixed the problem . It was the "crankshaft position sensor" (cps) . I tried to buy on for less than the going cost (between $120 and $150 )but was unable to , so I thought that I would have a look at the old sensor . Well, surprise, surprise,
I found that the wire wrap or outside wire sheath of the coaxial cable was only attached by 2 strands of wire.I cut away the plastic housing around where the wires enter the sensor and soldered the little sucker back on and then reinstalled the part
So far everything is going GREAT
So dont go straight out and buy a new cps , investigate whether it is repairable
Also in this process I have found out that it is possible to repair the OVP relay but touching the soldering iron on all the solder spots on the back of the board after removing it from the canister. This little sucker was the cause of my hard to start problems about 12 months ago
