How to check fuel distributor b/4 moving on to injectors

Hi All, 1986 420 sel
I have replaced all components of fuel delivery. 2 pumps, filter, accumulator and have good fuel flow to the fuel distributor.
Car has been sitting for nearly a year and probably has old gas in distributor and may be reason for car not starting.
How can I check the FD out to see if it is working or may be gummed up from the old fuel sitting so long. Can it be removed and repaired or cleaned? How would I go about trying to salvage this thing if possible.

Thanks in advance for your expert advise!!!! Dale

Have you checked the pressure using a gauge?
