List price for part was $1.70. Postage would have been $.43, Total $2.13. Give me the part number for your seats, if the total is less than $2.13, you'll have them next week.....................

In all seriousness, this is an example of how you sometimes have to help your friendly parts guy. Most parts folks are overworked and underpaid. Parts like this one can be hard to find on the electronic parts catalog unless you know exactly where to look. Even then it can take a good 10 or 15 minutes. That's a lot to ask especially since the sale will net the parts counter less than a dollar. I always look up my own part numbers on the epc. (subscription to the online epc is free) When providing my own part numbers, I have never had an instance where a part was not available. Before I started looking up my own part numbers, parts that you would expect to cost less than $5.00 were not available 90% of the time.

By the way, I (will) have a spare ratchet spring clip for the tensioner on a 104.992 if anyone ever looses one......................

On the other hand, If I keep it, I'll be that much closer to building my next
E320 from parts in my garage. Kinda like Johnny Cash who got it one piece at a time.

yeah. Mercedes is 'Enginered Like No Other' for sure. The Star hood assembly on my 1990 300 has no less than 9 parts, simply for the ornament, it's an incredible amount of design and execution that absolutely stuns me.... seriously, this MB is something else....

Where and how do I subscribe to the 'epc'?

Thanks,

When subscribing to the epc, you will be asked for credit card information, but you will not be charged anything. It used to be there was an annual charge of about $20.00. The subscription web page "scripting" just hasn't been modified.
