Computer Module Blower Motor
Would anyone happen to know if the blower motor for the computer module compartment (right side near firewall) should be on all the time when the ignition is on, or is it controlled by a thermostat?
Also, would anyone happen to know which fuse controls the blower motor for the computers. There's no power going to blower motor, and cannot locate the fuse for this motor. Thanks. |

The blower motor comes on for 1.5 seconds after each engine start if the engine exceeds 1200 rpm. It comes on if the temperature in the box is over 60C, and off at less than 55C for 6/8 cyl (5 degrees less on the v12). The air is drwn from under the dash and returned to the blower housing. it is controlled by module N16/1 in the box (the one with the fuses) it must get its power in there. I found the info in my 92 140 intro to service manual, and also believe it was deleted some years later. I cant prvide any more info than that.

I have the same question for my 1996 SL600 with an ME system . Is the thermostat in the basic module N16/1 or the 2 ME modules N3/11 or N3/12? I need to know because I relocated my N16/1 outside the blower box.

I have a 1993 Benz 300SE. I understand from techs that they removed the blower function on later models, but am not sure when.
I am informed that the temperature sensor on my model is on the module w/ fuses on it - module closest to the firewall. |
