Why is it virtually impossible to find P/S hi-pressure hose?
1994 C280. Power steering high pressure hose (with the metal tubing/fittings on each end) is leaking. It is very slow but I guess it could explode at any time.
Why in the world is it so difficult to find this hose? Phil doesn't stock it but could special order it. I'm sure the dealer would be asking $150 for it. None of the parts websites I usually check has it. Part # 2024660181. Maybe there is a "hard to find" part website I'm not aware of. Thanks.

MB list is $89...we sell very few! That means it was a well designed part.

I take PS high pressure lines to my local hydraulic shop. hose is 3.99 a foot and crimps are $10 each and fittings are about $20-35. pressure tested to 850 PSI.
but as Pawo said, I have yet to replace an MB hose ![]()

VERY FEW Mercedes are sold in the USA--surely at least 100 Chevies for every Mercedes. Ain't gonna find parts for Mercedes at Pep Boys. Econ 101.

Ditto to the idea of a shop that services hydraulic lines. Check your yellow pages. There should be a lot of them.

I've been using local hydraulic repair and fab shop for my random hose and fitting needs as well.
