Timing chain tensioner in my 190e 2.3

Need to ask the best & brightest.
I was wondering if it has right amount of tension?
As book and few talked about them here, when u remove u expect a high tension spring to fired across, mines didnt do very much.
Would my tensioner's spring has expired by now or spring weakened?
They also say its going to be difficult to scre it back so wonder.
Now the chain kind of rattles too, making clack clack noise , would the chain be not tight enough?
