Brake booster hose broken @ intake manifold... need help (W208)

Somehow while installing my freshly cleaned fuel injectors I managed to break, or more like snap the brake booster vac line at its connection to the intake manifold. It seems that there is a yellowish piece that runs from the inner part of the hose and goes in thru the grommet on the manifold. I tried pulling out the piece that was left in the grommet, but it looks like im going to have to break it into little pieces to pull it all out. I guess my question is, can the grommet itself be removed, or will I have to pull off the intake to accomplish this? Also, could I use some vac hose and clamps to fix this problem, or am I better buying the whole new unit for $54 from ********? See pics below....
