1990 300E Smog Pump Removed ? Belt Size ?

aloha
my mechanic removed seized smog pump.
his solution is to put a dummy pulley in it's place.
other threads never suggest a pulley substitution.
his original dilemma was finding the correct belt size to use without the smog pump in place.
i do not know if this is a double over head cam or earlier motor.
any help
please?

The belt from a pre-1990 300E or 260E will fit. They did not have the smog pump. It is exactly the right amount shorter.

The belt tension is adjusted with the tensioner once the belt is in place....perhaps he is just not making the adjustment properly?
