Front Wheel Speed Sensor

Would anyone happen to know if a front wheel speed sensor was failing on a W140, what symptoms would one observe? Thanks.

Maybe an ASR/ABS fault light in the dash cluster? (just guessing--I'm not very familiar with this chassis) Retrieving fault codes might be helpful.
