I'm resurrecting this old thread with some new questions

I bought a new expansion valve because of the possible incompatibility with the 134 refrigerant. We are going back to the old R12 and I am putting on a new valve and a new compressor.
Would the thermoswitch at the drier cause the auxillary fans to not come on or would it be the AC temp switch on top of the drier? How could I test either of these switches.
We still get cold air from the vents if a big shop fan is directed over the auxillary fans.
