selector lever removal

Hello out there!
Can anyone give me the step by step for removing the transmission gear selector lever on the center console. I want to replace some of the window switches on my 1990 420 SEL. I have the pocedure down for the removal of the center peice but not the selector lever so I can take the center peice out and work on it.

Thanks

You don't need to remove the shifter to service window switches.

Just lift the wood off using proper procedures.

Be careful, there's a piece of wood on the center console near the ashtray that likes to break off or come unglued from the main wooden piece.
