300E changes?

I'm 300E shopping and am wondering what were the changes between the '90 300E(3.0L) and the '92 version.Updates? Different weaknesses? Thanks for any and all help.

Some minor body trim. The biggest difference is the early 300's have the M103 engine while the later models have M104 engine.

Personally I prefer the earlier M103 powered cars, the 1990/91 models are best because they have the updated exterior/interior, and the engine has the most improvements. I have a 1990 and its awesome. The M103 is pretty easy to work on, lots of room, and when running properly it has excellent power and decent economy.

Pretty much nothing significant. New colors, ... the sedan had the same M103 engine through '93. '94/'95 got the bigger 4-puck calipers, the M104, lights/facelift/etc.

they are the same engine wise and in other areas....the engine is the same, the body work is very identical. I have taken many parts of 300Es in my junkyard from 1988 to 1993 300Es that all work on my 1990 300TE
including fuel injection parts, body parts, electrical parts...all basically interchangable.....

The most significant changes (basic face-lift/trim/interior really) occurred in '90 and in '94 as cliffmac mentioned.
