Removing the hood badge on a 126 SEC - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Hi All,

I recently bought an SEC and it came with gold badges and chrome wheels, and i'm trying to tone down the look. I've removed the trunk badges and the wheels, but I can't work out how to get the hood badge off. Any tricks? the trunk ones were easy - using dental floss for the 560 badge and the back of a screwdriver to push off the star, but I can't work this one out.

On the SEC open the hood and look up to the area the badge is secured. You will see an 8mm nut holding the badge in place. Remove it and then push from the rear. There is a small plastic pin just above this nut that may need a push to free itself as well.

Thanks.. I'll check it out. I didn't see the nut so i'll look more closely.
